One things for sure, Roger Mooking and Aarón Sanchez like it hot and full of flavor! I had the exciting opportunity to chat with these culinary wise guys about why they passionately seek out the hottest food available during this new season of Heat Seekers on Food Network.

Aarón Sanchez and Roger Mooking are back to spice things up and see who can handle the heat in this tongue-torching odyssey to discover the most deliciously spicy food across the country. Over the course of the season Roger and Aarón’s journey to experience the spiciest dishes take them to restaurants in Atlanta, Dallas, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Nashville, San Diego, Tampa and Washington, D.C. With a high-stakes challenge at the end, the winner gets bragging rights, and the loser suffers a little public humiliation.
“I think the main goal for Roger and I is to try and highlight some of the flavor aspects of hot food, and make it more approachable and understandable to the masses” explains Aarón Sanchez. Then he tells me that “Roger and I both have similar backgrounds in a sense that we both grew up eating hot food. For us it’s not such a novelty, it’s part of our everyday upbringing.” It seems that these guys were born and bred to take on spicy challenges.
“This season of Heat Seekers there’s been a few things. The episode that just went by in Dallas, we had these sliders that were crazy hot!” exclaimed Roger Mooking when asked what the hottest dish is that he ate on Heat Seekers. Mooking continues “But you gotta look at what’s coming up too. In every episode there’s some blazing hot stuff, you gotta look out for that!”

These guys crack me up! In fact they make me laugh and also cringe every time that I tune into Heat Seekers. There’s nothing quite like watching the full on assault of oral agony as Roger and Aarón devour the hottest pepper dishes ever created. I can’t wait to watch what happens next on this new season of Heat Seekers which airs Mondays on Food Network at 8:00 pm EST.
