I had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Travis Stork, Co-Host of Emmy Award-winning syndicated daytime series “The Doctors”, about tips for improving your health with simple diet tweeks. He has partnered with General Mills on a “whole grain initiative” to educate people about how easy fixes, like adding more whole grains to your diet, will lead to an overall healthier self.
On CBS’s award-winning syndicated show, “The Doctors,” Dr. Travis Stork is used to educating individuals on how to achieve and maintain good overall health and fitness – and he will be the first to say it starts with what you eat. Whole grains are essential in helping with weight management, maintaining heart health and the prevention of certain cancers. With less than 5% of Americans getting the recommended amount of whole grains each day, Dr. Stork has many easy fixes to not only get your eating on the track, but to help you feel healthier, too!
“I’ve always said I think that switching to whole grains is probably the easiest way to eat healthier without necessarily giving up the foods you love” explains Dr. Travis Stork at the beginning of our discussion. He continues by explaining many easy ways to include whole grains into your diet, how to identify if whole grains is the first ingredient in the foods you purchase, and the differences between whole grains vs processed grains. Dr. Stork also talks about why he became a doctor and why he shares his extensive healthy living knowledge with others.

A simple way to get whole grains is to switch pastas–no one will even notice. I make my own bread at home and like to use whole grain flours, too.
Great ideas Beth! Thank you for sharing.
