Can someone please pinch me, I must be dreaming about the Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival which begins in just a few days!

Why am I in such a delerious state, floating somewhere between bacony clouds and hog heavan?

Let me explain the whirlwind culinary extravaganza that is about to unfold.

Hotel Gansevoort NYC Exterior at Dusk

After Sharyn and I arrive in NYC, we will have some time to soak in the sites and check into the posh Hotel Gansevoort.

Our first dining experience could prove to be the most decadent of all, but only time will tell…

Michael White

Chef Michael White

The Decadent White Truffle Dine-Around presented by Wine Spectator hosted by Michael White promises a decadent white truffle course and one fabulous wine pairing at each of Chef White’s four restaurants.

Once again, please pinch me, a little harder this time?

Friday will be fantastically fruity, full of ancient wonderful fruit and tantalizing tart berries.

We are starting our day in the Meatpaking District with the Cranberry Marketing Committee for the Harvest to Plate Press Event.

Cranberry Marketing Committee

This is an event to celebrate the cranberry harvest season with food and restaurant consultant Clark Wolf  and Excutive Chef of ‘The Shop’, Roberta Alicia.

They will highlight the cranberry’s culinary versatility by showcasing uniquely prepared dishes and cocktails.

We are ending the day at POM’s Wonderful Inside Soiree, which is a special dinner party POM Wonderful is throwing at the acclaimed Eleven Madison Park to celebrate the beginning of Pomegranate season.

Over the course of the evening we will have the chance to experience fresh, ripe, pomegranates in a variety of ways and discover what makes this splendid fruit truly Wonderful Inside.

Following cocktails there is an indulgent three course dinner created by Executive Chef Daniel Humm who was named as the Best Chef in New York City 2010 by the James Beard Foundation.

Our Saturday is packed full of  incredible edible events, starting with the Grand Tasting presented by ShopRite

Then we might head to the Eater Blogger Lounge at The Standard, New York to see NYC food bloggers interview the best and brightest chefs and personalities at the Festival.

Saturday afternoon kicks off with the Andrew Zimmern Whole Foods Market Culinary Demonstration presented by KitchenAid.

What a great opportunity to see him in action and to learn from a seasoned world traveller who has eaten countless unique indigenous foods.

I wonder what Chef Zimmern is going to prepare at the cooking demo and do I dare try it if he passes around samples?

Go ahead, pinch me way hard this time, I gotta wake up and pull my snout out of the clouds before dinner Saturday night, which starts at dusk.

Tom Colicchio and a group of esteemed chefs will prepare the dinner of a lifetime for us!

Sharyn and I will spend our final autumn evening in the city with some of New York’s favorite chefs at one of the last remaining meatpacking facilities in the district, DeBragga and Spitler.

These distinguished chefs will cook and serve alongside the finest meat producers in the country while we enjoy live music, libations from Southern Wine & Spirits and ready access to true foodie farmers.

We will probably skip dessert and head right to Godiva Chocolatier presents Sweet sponsored by Kahlúa and Jacob’s Creek hosted by Duff Goldman and Sandra Lee

The evening starts with a sip of Perrier-Jouet Champagne in a glass that’s ours to keep, and continues with creative cocktails from Kahlua and Beefeater.

The over-the-top, all dessert tasting features a veritable who’s who of sugar.

We will also taste a delicious selection of Godiva’s chocolates with a debut of new Bakery Dessert Truffles and a special dessert created by Godiva Senior Chef Chocolatier David Funaro.

At some point I’ll have to come down from cloud nine, but one thing is for sure…I’ll be wearing stretchy pants while singing weeeee weeeee weeeee all the way home.

There’s more to come about my birthday weekend, see ya on Twitter and on Facebook.

Thank you for reading my blog.
