Sometimes it’s best to spend a long lazy weekend at home to recharge and relax. Sharyn and I decided to do just that for Memorial Day weekend.
Since rain was forcast for Memorial Day, I decided to cookout on Sunday…
…and make enough food for plenty of leftovers…
Starting with the BBQ Bacony Beans I added molasses, honey, maple syrup, ketchup and mustard to canned baked beans.
Then I chopped green onions and sweet peppers into small pieces using my Dragon Dagger Utility Knife…
…and added them to the beans and sauce. Finishing with a thin layer of bacon to cover the beans before placing them on the hot grill.
As the beans cooked, I cleaned and prepped the salad fixins’ …
…then I chopped the fresh veggies with my Big Stick Chef Knife…
…and tore the lettuce to create a Garden Salad served with Tangy Honey Mustard Dressing.

After fixing the salad, it was time to cook some extra long veal smoked sausages. They only took a few minutes on the hot bbq grill.
Just before the sausages and beans were finished, I placed a pita pizza on the grill.
Nothing fancy just pita bread with marinara sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese, a little garlic powder and oregano. Grilling the soft round pita bread makes it really crispy and adds tasty smoky flavor.
A quick toss of the salad and dressing after everything comes off the grill…
…and their was nothing left to do but eat and enjoy the rest of the long weekend.
Now it’s time to get back to reality.
