International Food Blogger Conference 2010, Seattle Here I Come!

Published by Brad on April 20th, 2010 - in Uncategorized

After Baconfest Chicago, I took a week to travel and visit family.

It was a fun trip full of good eats and I was also able to rest my weary fingers, but now it’s time to start blogging again!

Last weekend, I was elated to receive an invitation from Sheri Wetherell Founder & VP, Editorial at Foodista.com, to pre-register for the International Food Blogger Conference.

Of course I immediately registered and booked my room at the Hotel Monaco

James Oseland of Saveur Magazine is the Keynote Speaker at the IFBC.   There is also a 3 day agenda in the works, full of excellent networking and learning opportunities for food bloggers.

I’m so excited to visit the city of Seattle and to learn from some of the best in the industry, August can’t come soon enough!

If you have any suggestions about what to do while I’m in Seattle please comment below.  I’m hoping to stay a few days to explore the city and local eateries.

Thanks for reading my blog and have a wonderful day.

Brad

  1. Wow!! That will def be a blast. I have to wait till May for the Foodie Ultimate Taste Test in Manila.

It’s so simple, it’s almost silly… but whenever I’m in Seattle all I really want are three things:

    1) A slice of coconut cream pie from Palace Kitchen
    2) A meal at the Black Bottle (complete with Blasted Broccoli)
    3) A sammich from Salumi

Oh, yes — and a couple of hours to peruse the stacks at the Elliot Bay Book company… one of the best independent book nooks there is!

  3. That will be so much fun! OF course you have to visit the fish market!

I’ll be there, too! Hope to meet you there. Seattle welcomes you!

  6. Awesome! I’m headed to IFBC as well. It sounds like it’s going to be fantastic.

I am a Seattle native though I haven’t lived there in 10+ years. Whenever I go back for a visit I always make sure to hit up Pike Place Market. Though touristy, there are still some great foodie finds to be had there (and prank kits, wind up toys, strange hats, vintage russian stacking dolls, obscure musical instruments, left-handed paraphernalia, and much more)

  7. Hi Brad! I was googling the IFBC and found your site. It is great! I am also planning on attending the IFBC…it sounds so amazing. I have two little girls so I am still trying to get everything figured out with them.

I love your obsession with bacon! It is one of my favorite things to cook with, it just makes everything taste better. If you have time, you should check out my bacon, corn and shrimp risotto (http://goo.gl/fb/HnpD8). It’s not as decadent as your yummies, but it is pretty darn tasty!

I hope to meet you in August!

    ~ Katie :)
