Confessions of a Baconaholic Part 4: Bacon Dashi by a Fellow Baconaholic

Published by Brad on March 1st, 2010 - in Uncategorized

My mouth watered and my stomach panged when Stephanie at Momofukufor2.com conjured up Bacon Dashi.  Another tantalizing treat on her culinary quest to make every recipe in the Momofuku cookbook.

A long time Baconaholic, Steph proudly professes her undying love for real bacon and how her addiction started as a child.  I can relate to that…but you have to cook the bacon before you eat it….

…and what’s this?  A bacon bowl to conserve and reanimate the precious boiled bacon…

…adding Potatoes & Clams to the Bacon Dashi (and of course more bacon) for an extraordinary combination of flavors…

“What bacony recipes are coming up?” I asked my foodie friend, and she said “the book is full of bacony bits and almost bacony-bits, including Pork Belly Ssäm coming up in the near future, that I think will be real fun.”

That will be fun indeed, I’m definately hungry for more original and Momofuku recipes!

Thank you for reading my blog.
